Freedoms

Producing good stories depends on freedoms. We intend to secure these freedoms for ourselves and for others.

The two of us have worked together closely on TV movies, series and film projects since 2003, encountering people from many different countries and cultures and accumulating a vast range of experiences. We share many similar interests and perspectives, we accept and encourage constructive criticism and have an almost identical vision of how we want to develop film projects, how to interact with members of a film team and the importance of values like openness, authenticity and solidarity – as well as a willingness to listen and learn.

From our point of view, a film project is, at its best, a shared effort of many different forces, some of which may appear to be in opposition to each other. Filmmaking should be neither a grassroots democracy nor a dictatorship. Wherever people join forces to achieve something, there is friction – between individuals and in questions of content and process. As long as the search for solutions is guided by high artistic standards, respect and team spirit, there are few boundaries to creativity.

When developing contemporary film projects, we believe a healthy sense of reality and appropriate caution are just as important as a healthy sense of idealism and positive thinking. Our work should be shaped by mutual inspiration, mutual support and mutual constructive evaluation.
